Condolence: We are deeply saddened by Jack's passing but know that he was able to live a most interesting life and that, with having given so much of himself to others, he will be rewarded now in God's hands. We remember his out going personality where he was willing to strike up a conversation with most all he met and his keen wit that he would so often inject into much of what he had to say. We did not know Jack until he was well into his retirement but know how much he volunteered himself to helping others and of his passion for playing golf. We wish we had known him when he was active in his career of photo and film journalism which took him far and wide in addition to helping bring the events of the day to the citizens of New Haven. As will so many others who lives were touched and enriched by Jack, We shall greatly miss him but feel gladdened for our good fortune to have known him.

Condolence: Even in his nineties, Jack was sheer delight. Intelligent, witty, sociable, generous -- and still handsome. My husband and I feel privileged to have known him. He gave my father, who passed away last year in his nineties, too, a great sparkle of fun and energy during our visits to Florida.
Jack had an unusually productive and interesting life and contributed in his field in many areas of the U.S. and the world. His amazing spirit and talents touched everyone who knew him. His passion for everything from Belize to cats, never diminished.
Jack's life was full and active to the end, thanks to the remarkable care and devotion of his partner Bess.
Au revoir, dear Jack, your life was an inspiration and pleasure to many. How you will be missed!

Condolence: We know this lovely couple from our years of renting our condo to them. The thing we will remember the most is how Jack would talk to us the entire time we were fixing something at their home. He was such a social person and, in reading his memoirs, seeing his pictures and now, upon death, we realize what a remarkable individual he was not only in the work force but his personal life.
