Rev. Jonathan S. Bailey, age 57, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 10, 2018 in Milford Hospital. He was born on October 23, 1960 in Brockton, MA to the late Rev. Richard and Helen Frye Bailey. He served the Milford community as the Pastor for Calvary Alliance Church for the last 31 years. A preacher of the gospel who loved people and always saw the good in people the way God saw them, he will be remembered as being very compassionate and a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching the Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins and Patriots, playing basketball, working out at the YMCA, gardening and keeping the church looking beautiful. A loving and devoted husband, he is survived by his wife of almost 33 years, Dawn Kahkonen Bailey, dedicated children 1st Lt. Joshua R. Bailey and his wife Katrina of Milford, Anna E. Shuman and her husband David of Nyack, NY, Stephen D. Bailey and his wife Kelsi of Pearl River, NY, Spc. Caleb D. Bailey and his wife Savannah of Ft. Carson, CO, Esther R. Bailey, Isaac J. Bailey and Sarah J. Bailey all of Milford, siblings Richard Bailey and his wife Kathy of Kalamazoo, MI, Joanna Francisco and her husband Bob of Ft. Mill, SC, Stephen Bailey and his wife Jacqui of Redding, CA, Daniel Bailey of Nyack, NY and Heather Armelino and her husband Ed of Redding, CA, grandchildren Abigail Bailey, Ezekiel and Aria Shuman and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Judith Bailey. Visitation will take place in Calvary Alliance Church, 273 Orange Ave., Milford on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 9am to 11am with a funeral service following at 11am. The reception will immediately follow in the hall. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Calvary Alliance Church in support of Pastor Bailey’s children.
