Marilyn L. Beutel, age 87 of Milford, beloved wife of the late Leo E. Beutel, who was the love of her life, passed away May 24, 2018 at Bridgeport Hospital. She was born in Bridgeport, July 8, 1930, daughter of the late John J. and Mary Herb Collins. She was a bookkeeper for Teleservice for many years until her retirement. Active in the community, she was a parishioner of St. Mary Church of Milford, a member of the Destroyer Escort Sailors Association Auxiliary, the America Needs Fatima, and a Den Mother of the Milford Cub Scouts. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister and also an avid New York Yankees Fan who never missed watching a game. She is the cherished mother of Linda Evangelisti (Wayne), Marilyn Kopchak (Alan), Leo T. Beutel (Joyce), Carol Massimin (Garrett), David Beutel (Michelle), Susan Garlock (Darren), and Jacqueline Bodnar (David), she is the loving grandmother of 22 grandchildren, and great grandmother of 14 great grandchildren, loving sister of Irene Clark (Robert), loving sister-in-law Jean Collins, and loving aunt of many nieces and nephews. Besides her beloved parents and her beloved husband Leo, she was predeceased by her brothers and their wives, John Collins, Jr., Raymond Collins (Elizabeth), William Collins (Elaine and Elizabeth), and Edward Collins, her sisters Ruth Harris (William B.), and Janet Collins, and her nephew and godson William R. Harris. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, May 29 from 4pm to 8pm at Smith Funeral Home, 135 N. Broad St., Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday May 30 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary Church, Gulf St., Milford. Interment will follow at Kings Highway Cemetery, Cherry St., Milford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
