Richard W. Jenney, age 88, of Milford, passed away on January 2, 2018 in Connecticut Hospice. He was born on August 22, 1929 in New Bedford, MA to the late John and Doris Sumpter Jenney. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII. Before retiring, he was employed as an aircraft assembler for Sikorsky Aircraft for 36 years. An active member of the community, he was a member of the Senior Bowling League and Sikorsky Retiree Local #1150. A devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather, he will be remembered for his love of woodworking, bowling, skiing, fishing and all sports. Mr. Jenney is survived by his loving wife Dolores Jenney, son Robert “Bud” Jenney and his wife Cathy of Milford, daughter Susan Piscitelli and her husband Anthony of Wallingford, sister Shirley Wilson of North Carolina, grandchildren Paige and Brooke Jenney, Bryan Piscitelli and Melissa Saunders and her husband Brian, great grandchildren Nora and Ronan Saunders, nephews Scott Jenney and his wife Kathy and Allen Wilson and niece Cathy Frengie. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his brother Donald Jenney. Calling hours are Friday, January 5, 2018 from 4pm to 7pm at the Smith Funeral Home, 135 N Broad St., Milford. A funeral service will be held in funeral home on Saturday, January 6th at 9:30am. Interment with military honors will follow in Kings Highway Cemetery, Milford.
