Obituary for Robyn Harrington

Robyn Harrington
Robyn B. Harrington, age 63, of Milford, beloved wife to Gerald Harrington, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2016 in St. Raphael Hospital after a long illness. Born in Milford on January 28, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Adeline R. Nold Mars. Robyn began her teaching career for the Milford Board of Education in special education and then third grade at St. Gabriel School. She finished her teaching career as a first grade teacher for the Fairfield Board of Education. An artistic and talented woman, Robyn was an excellent crafter and seamstress. She made many wonderful costumes for the events held at Black Rock Church, where she was a deeply loved member of the Black Rock Church family. Robyn could do anything that she put her mind to including never letting her illness destroy her positivity for life. Most of all, Robyn was completely devoted to her family and her deep faith in the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This faith has guided her home to the heavenly Father’s arms. Robyn will be missed by all who knew her.
Along with her husband Gerald, Robyn is survived by her cherished daughters Rachel Harrington-Pavlo and her husband Robert of Milford, Kathleen Harrington-Boehm and her husband Dennis of Middlefield, siblings Robert (Eva) Mars, Walter J. (Mary Ellen) Mars, Colleen (Richard) Sardi, Carol (Frank) Mancini, Linda (Joseph) Whalen, Thomas (Joyce) Beckwith, Jean (James) Collins, Denise (Thomas) Charney, and Paul (Sarah) Beckwith. Beside her parents, Robyn has joined with her beloved second mother Marion Mars.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 16, 2016 from 4 to 8 PM at the Smith Funeral Home, 135 N. Broad St., Milford. A Committal Service will take place on Saturday, September 17th at 9:30 AM in King’s Highway Cemetery, Milford. A Celebration of Robyn’s Life will proceed in Black Rock Church, 3685 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield at 11 AM, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
