DeCarli, Gloria A. (Schippani), 86, of Orange, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018. Beloved wife and love of her life, E. Albert DeCarli of Orange, for 64 years. Devoted mother of: Deb and husband Gary, Roberta and husband Mark, Carl and wife Karen. Daughter Joanne predeceased her. Cherished grandmother of: Matthew Schwab and his wife Katy, Steven Schwab, Paul and Michael Sekas. New great grandmother of Scarlett Schwab. Also survived by sister Marie Altieri, a sister-in-law Olga Covino, and several nieces and nephews. Born in Stratford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian (Caselli) Schippani. Gloria grew up playing sports and was a natural athlete. She played golf together with Al and they loved to travel together. With her grandchildren she would play golf, basketball, bowling, and fishing. Gloria volunteered at the Honda Golf Classic and was a volunteer to an organization dear to her, Special Olympics. Her meatballs and homemade cookies could not be beat! Gloria will be sadly missed by all those who knew her. Calling hours will be held on Fri. Oct. 12th from 4-7 PM in Smith Funeral Home at 135 N Broad St. Milford, CT. Friends and relatives may gather at the funeral home on Saturday Oct. 13th at 9:30 AM followed by funeral services at 10 AM with interment to follow at Orange Center Cemetery.
