Burton W. Cochrane, age 85 of Wallingford, formerly of Milford, passed away July 25, 2018 at Masonicare of Wallingford. Burton was born in Bridgeport, February 11, 1933, son of the late Burton W. and Jean Myrick Cochrane. Mr. Cochrane was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Hornet. After serving in the Navy, he worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for many years until his retirement. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, he is survived by his loving wife Lois Joyce Cochrane of Wallingford, his son Michael J. Cochrane of Wallingford, his grandchildren Chad A. Parker and Daniel P. Parker, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son Burton W. Cochrane, III, his daughter Patricia Ann Parker, his brothers Bernard and Thomas Cochrane, and his sister Betsy Williams. Calling hours will be held Monday, July 30, 2018 from 5pm to 7pm at Smith Funeral Home, 135 N. Broad St., Milford. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10am in the funeral home with Rev. Patricia Leonard-Pasley officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at King’s Highway Cemetery, Milford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
