Evelyn K. Hoyt, age 94 formerly of Milford, beloved wife of the late Arthur F. Hoyt, Jr., passed away July 10, 2018 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford. Evelyn was born in Bridgeport, January 30, 1924, daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Williams Kilroy. She worked as a legal secretary for Kapusta & Otzel Law Firm until her retirement and volunteered with the Milford Hospital Auxiliary for many years. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ of Milford where she was a member of the Women’s Fellowship. She also was a member of the Milford Historical Society and the Business and Professional Women’s club of Milford. Evelyn will be remembered for her devotion to her family. She is survived by her son Kenneth Hoyt (Christine), her daughters Meredith Stowe (Arthur) and Debbie McGraw, her grandchildren Robert Stowe (Kathleen), and Geoffrey Stowe (Katie), Megan and Kelly Hoyt, and Michael McGraw, and her great grandchildren Thomas, Caroline, Mary, Murphy, Hugh and Kylie. Besides her beloved husband and her parents, she was predeceased by her grandson Alexander McGraw, her brothers Charles and William Kilroy, her sister, Irene Quinlan, and her son-in-law William McGraw. Calling hours will be held Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 4pm to 7pm at the Smith Funeral Home, 135 N. Broad St., Milford. Funeral services will be held Friday July 20, 2018 at 10am at First United Church of Christ, W. Main St., Milford. Interment will follow at Kings Highway Cemetery, Cherry St., Milford.
