Obituary for Thomas N. Canfield Jr.

Thomas N. Canfield, Jr., age 56 of Orange, beloved husband of Robyn Black Canfield, passed away on July 6, 2018 at Masonicare of Wallingford. Thomas was born in Derby, March 6, 1962, son of Thomas Sr., and the late Mary Ann Deamico Canfield. He was employed as a Critical Systems Engineer for Point72 Asset Management of Stamford for 16 years. In his youth he was a member of the Young Jaycees and the Boy Scouts of America. He later was a volunteer firefighter for the White Hills Voluntary Fire Company #5 of Shelton. He- was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots, and of NASCAR. He also loved to sing and he did sing all the time. He also was involved with the many activities that Karianne participated in especially Venturing, Girl Scouts And Boy Scouts. Besides his wife, he is survived by his child Karianne Canfield, his sister Susan Tomlinson (Raymond) and their children Jonathan (his godson) and Melissa Tomlinson, his brother Jason Canfield (Louanne) and their children Abigail and Emily Canfield, his nieces Taylor, Caitlyn (his goddaughter), Lauryn, and Hailey Black, his other godchildren Christopher Golinski, Phoebe and Nova Barlow, and his beloved pets Lilly, Zoey, and Lavi. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 4pm to 8pm at Smith Funeral Home, 135 N. Broad St., Milford. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10am at the funeral home with Rev. Nancy Svalberg officiating. Interment will follow at Orange Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Masonic Charity Foundation, 22 Masonic Ave., Wallingford, CT 06492, or to Smilow Cancer Hospital Office of Development P O Box 1849 New Haven CT 06508. The family would like to thank that staff at Masonicare for their compassionate and loving care of Thomas, and a special thank you to the staff on Ramage Two and Sturgis Three ACU.
