Ann E. Becroft, age 71, of Milford, entered into eternal rest on April 5, 2018 at St. Raphael’s Hospital in New Haven. She was born in Ashland, PA. on March 12, 1947 to the late Martin and May (Hoffman) Shurgalla. Ann graduated from Lauralton Hall in 1965, and was proud to be called a Lauralton Lady. She was employed as a DMV clerk for George Harte Nissan for over 20 years. An active member of the community, she enjoyed bible study at her church, karaoke and benefit shows. Ann enjoyed her nightly rides along the beach with Gary, dancing to the music on the boardwalk, and her shopping trips with her sister and niece. A devoted wife, sister, and friend, she is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Gary Becroft, sister Martina McDonald and her husband Carey, of Milford, sister in law, Veronica Becroft, niece and god-daughter, Bree McDonald, niece, Tamara Vega and her husband, Shadrac, nephews, Matthew Hart and his wife Cara, Garrett Hart and his wife AnnaMarie, Albert Becroft Jr. and Dean Hart, along with several great nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her best friends, Paula Seyler, Bonnie Gregory and Fran Kowalski, Her goddaughter, Christine Gregory Petruccelli. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her beloved Grandmother, Elizabeth Hoffman Klinger, her brother in laws Albert and Kevin Becroft, and sister in law Carol Hart. Calling hours are Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Promise Land Church of God, 240 Burwell St., West Haven, from 4-8pm. The funeral service will be held in the church at 10am, on Friday, April 13. Interment will follow in King’s Highway Cemetery in Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Heart Association. Smith Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford is handling the arrangements.
