William “Bill” Augustus Van Arsdale Jr. passed away peacefully on January 5, 2018. He was born on June 24, 1936 to William A. Van Arsdale Sr. and Josephine Reed Van Arsdale in Milford, Connecticut. William is survived by his loving wife of more than 59 years Amy-Jean Hamilton Van Arsdale, his two children Lori Ann (Gerald) Dwyer and Jeffery Allan (Angela) Van Arsdale, his 3 grandchildren Catherine (Andrew) Schuette, Patrick Dwyer and Ashley (Christopher) Lowe, his 2 great-grandchildren Natalia and Amelia Lowe and his brother Robert (Michelle) Van Arsdale, as well as many nieces and nephews. As an entrepreneur, William owned and operated a construction company for over 40 years. Unwilling to just retire, he later ventured into real estate and continued to work well into his seventies. An avid sailor, William enjoyed spending time with Amy and all of his friends at Port Milford. Visitation hours from 4pm to 7pm on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the Smith Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford.
