Frank E. Whittaker, Jr, age 82, of Milford, CT passed away on December 25, 2017 in Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born on June 21, 1935 in New Haven to the late Frank E. and Elsie Mohr Whittaker, Sr. and proudly served in the US Army as a 2nd Lieutenant. Before retiring, he was employed as a teacher/administrator for the Bridgeport Board of Education. Mr. Whittaker is survived by his devoted wife Joyce Whittaker, sons Frankie Whittaker and his fiancé Lourdes Trofeo, Mark Whittaker and his wife Joann, Michael Whittaker and his wife Annie Camins and Thomas Whittaker, daughter Kelley Mancini and her husband John, grandchildren Taylor Whittaker, Grace Mancini, Maximus Mancini and Amelia Anne Whittaker and several nieces and nephews. Beside his parents, he is predeceased by his first wife, of 42 years, Anne L. Mongillo and sister Dorothy Kennedy. Calling hours are Friday, December 29, 2017 from 4pm to 8pm at the Smith Funeral Home, 135 N Broad St., Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 30th in St. Agnes Church at 10am. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the American Heart Assoc., 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
